safari problems with flash?

i've been experiencing some trouble with flash based websites when using safari. For example tvguide.com does not display a scroll bar for the listing grid, just for the main page. Other sites such as Aplia (an Economics site for a class) wouldn't display the online version of the book. Anyone else have these problems or know how to resolve them?
