12.1" G3 and G4 screen identical?

Hi,

I've just got my first mac. A very cheap 1ghz 12" iBook with a cracked screen.
I used to be a pc engineer so replacing it isn't a problem. However, I am unsure which screens will be compatible. Will any 12" ibook screen work, even if it is from a G3?

No. You will have to get the LCD designed for the G4. The connections are very similar, yet different enough to not work.

I changed the screen of my old G3 500Mhz 12inch ibook with a 12" screen from a G4 ibook with a burned Motherboard, worked great!!!!!! :doctor:

I wonder if it works the other way round? Were the connectors the same?
