imac G3

imac G3 DVD drive issue

I have an older imac G3 that I replaced the DVD drive in when it stopped ejecting the discs. It worked beautifully, now the one I have will not recognize a DVD and it spits CD's right back out.

Is this some sort of software issue, or is this new(used) DVD shot?

What brand of DVD is it? It may not be compatible.
