NEED HELP > Admin can't delete user...

We have a big problem here. We have a G4 Powerbook running Jaguar (10.2.8), and are running under the admin user. There are no other users setup as admins. However, there is one user that absolutely will not delete. The account isn't set up as an admin (although at one time he might have been), and I "deleted" him from the accounts in system prefs, but that account is still there after I delete it. All the other accounts are gone. DMGs were created for everyone we deleted, including the one that won't "really" delete.

We are thinking that this account has been messed with somehow. The account was from a kid who worked graveyard shift (and essentially just goofed off all night), and we're afraid he logged in as admin and did some trickery of some sort.

Is there any way we can delete this account? Once again, the account is NOT set up as admin, but WILL NOT delete from the accounts list.

Any help would be appreciated big-time...

Well hmm.. if you've already backed up the directory.. and you've already backed up everything else. And you've tried deleting from system preferences.. you can always use the terminal to just remove his directory.

sudo rm -rf /Users/<username>

and then stick in your admin password.

Cheers!
