been avoiding this for weeks but decided to return my macbook to the store.

the keypad at the palm area went a dirty grey, after only 3 months usage and
no amount of cleaning would remove it. its under warranty so it should be away for 10 days to get fixed. :eek:neye:

I think your palm actually rubbed the coating off to the base grey that is underneath. There is this thing called Invisible Shield or whatever that people on the board are touting. I just put PDA screen protectors on my laptop.

yeh thats what's happened, but its a fault with some macbooks
otherwise they would have sent me away, without saying the top case needed
replaced.

you really should not need to put any protection on a laptop to stop
discolouring, as was the case with both white ibooks i have owned without getting this problem.
