I donwloaded a template for a flash interface and I am going through the readme to set it up, and I have come across a section I am unsure of. the readme tells me to change the CHMOD settings on certain files and folders to 777

how do I do this? I am using adobe golive cs for my web site editing too

thanks!!

In the terminal type: chmod 777 nameoffile

You are changing the access settings, btw. ;)

is there a way to change them without going into terminal, and by typing in the name of file is that it's full file path too?

Yes, you can right click on the file in question and click on info, then you can change the permissions from there. You are changeing the permissions to Read/Write/Execute ALL (User, Group, and Other).

No you dont have to type the whole path, unless you are not in the directory of the file you are working in. A lot of people that dont use the terminal dont know that you can hit tab and it will complete what you are writing.
