Hey,

I am a mac switcher, well I have been using a g4 iBook for about a year now and I love it. I am changing my main beige box for a lovely new 20" core 2 duo iMac. I need some advice on what webdesign software to use.

I have previously used dreamwever for the layout part and then I edit my code and I have used photoshop for graphics. I cannot afford these apps at home and I want to get legit software. I have looked at rapidweaver and iWeb. I love the look of rapidweaver and I am happy to spend some mony on software, just cant afford £500 lol. I have read some reviews of nvu. For my graphics i intend to use GIMP cause I like the look at it.

So come on, here is your chance to get your two cents and let me know exactly what software I should be using!!!! so come on, opinionate me!!!

Any suggestions welcome,

Steve :yinyang:

Rapidweaver seems to have a good reputation. Also, screencasts online has a good video podcast with tutorials on rapidweaver.

Goto ebay buy the Photoshop 6 version box sealed (old stock) then goto adobes site and get the upgrade to CS2 for a small fee, saving you alot more money than the full version! ;)

Creating websites with RapidWeaver is pretty easy but it has limitations. If you want to implement your own code, it offers less or no support.

What's wrong with NVU? When I was using Linux it was my favourite Application for web design.

AFAIK you have to use macromedia flash to create flash.
