virus software advice...?

HELLO everyone,
I am a new MAC user. I got tired of my PC crashing and my laptop locking up so I went out and bought a MAC Mini and a MACbook. I love it!!
I do have a question though...

I know that MAC OS X is not a virus attack prone as Windows but do I still need antivirus software? If so, what is a good one? I refuse to use Norton. I have had so much trouble with Norton that I refuse to buy it.

So I am glad to be a MAC owner and look forward to some advice.

short story shorter: you dont need antivirus unless you are on a local network that uses windows computers
