There has been a reoccuring problem with my powerbook having a sluggish response with the trackpad.

The problem comes up when i shut my screen while there are several programs running and I am connected to the a wireless network. When I reopen my laptop, my trackpad won't respond and then all of a sudden it is all the way across the screen and then the problem just happens over and over. Its quite annoying actually. So I tried checking my stats but everything seems normal. So then I tried closing all the programs, but that doesn't work. Then tried messing with the trackpad settings, but no luck. I am forced to restart. Then everything is fine. This is bullcrap because I used to go days maybe even weeks without ever restarting my laptop. Does anyone else have this problem?

You should really think about shutting down your laptop for travel instead of closing the lid.
