wd raptor drives for mac pro, is it ok?

is it possbile to install and use as a primary drive (a wd raptor hard drive) on a mac pro? is it even worth doing?

yes, sata interface i think its sata 150, but am not sure.

Yes, this should work as it is a standard SATA drive. The only difference is that the Raptor is 10k RPM.

raptor would make a sick boot drive.i had one in my pc i built and it screamed. its loud though

I used a 74GB as my main boot drive in my PowerMac G5 system. It worked great.

Hi mate this reply may be too late but I have to Raptors in my system and it really kicks ****. From time of pushing button to on screen display less than 10 seconds, Have split the two one for the OSX and related programs the other for Windoz the rest of the drives are for the data.

Wow, i've actually planned to get a raptor (36gb version as i'm poor, to bood and for main apps, then a slower fat one for documents) how loud are they? this is really a key thing for me. any dB ratings?
