mounting .mdf &.mds

So I have a copy of AoE: Gold Edition but it is in a .mdf & .mds. I had read that the Gold Edition was AoE's mac version of the game, does anyone know a way of getting this file to mount or, as I have read in other areas after googling my issue, changing the file to a .dmg? Thanks for anyones help
