Internet way slower on Mac?

Mine doesn't take anymore ram =|
Both slots are filled to the max.

Is it the connection?
Mine is sometimes slower I assume due to usage.

If you could re-read the OP; that'd be great. The tests were done side by side on 3 different connections.

doing a line speed test on all my pcs in the house (6) and my macbook comes back with my macbook being the quickest. Loading times are also quicker for pages.

Youve probably got some widget running in background on yer mac thats taking bandwidth up. That or the channel the airport is sending / recieving is on same as a local neighbour etc where as the pcs arent.

Either that its all the pr0n on yer mac thats slowing it down :p

I'd suspected teh pr0n, but it struck me as odd that a fresh install would come with my pr0n pre-installed. I'll check on the Airport thing, but the problem also happens with wired Ethernet.

I don't use any widgets except for a family guy quote thing :]

You didnt get pre-installed pr0n!? I bet thats what the macbok pro is really, its a typo should read MacBook Pron !

i am also been having this problem but i have it with ftp software (transmit) on the mac
have a 10meg connection yet can only hit 200kb/s if am lucky upload is fine just download

Interesting - I just came from Linux and XP and I find Mac to be faster. I am not running a MacBook but a Quicksilver.
