I got this silicone keyboard cover form OnlyCoolToys.com. It works like it is supposed to. It is going to take some getting used to. At first I really didn’t like it, but I’ve been using it just to get over the initial rejection of it, and it is growing on me. It makes the keys silent and soft as you type. If anything happens (spills, crumbs, dust) at least this will help. Anyway, it should do the job.

Bad idea that. Could possibly kill your MacBook!

Your stopping the ventalation of air getting in to the unit from around the keys.

Actually the macbook doesn't vent much heat through the keyboard any more, that's why you can run them with the lid closed.

Previous iBook's DID though, so on them this would be a bad idea.

Looks pretty nice!

You beat me to it. The MacBook cools with the vent, not the keyboard like the iBook. You're right, I'm having no heat issues.

Still wouldnt trust it though.

Did you never notice the heat rising from the k-brd before the SMC update!
Any holes or heat escaping I see as a good thing.

Same - designed to be used closed, most of the heat goes out the back and sides, NOT the keyboard area.

But the top case of the Macbook Pro heats up quite considerably, so I'd probably not use one of these on that.

Did you actually bother reading the thread?

I think it was about $12. It is working great. Been ripping DVDs with Handbrake and the temp is fine. I'm glad I bought it.

Macboook Silicone Keypad Cover

I purchased a black one from Ebay and it's great :D It's really going to help with the discolouration issue on the trackpad, I'm very happy with mine although it does get some getting used to as typing can be a bit difficult at the start. I'm wondering though, has anyone purchased this AND the crystal cover for the Macbook?

Love to hear from anyone that has both on their Macbooks? Thanks!
