I can never get frontrow to open with my remote. I doubt the battery is flat as I never used it. Is there a way to open it without the remote or something?

You can go into Apple > System Preferences then choose "Keyboard & Mouse" then select "Keyboard Shortcuts" and down near the bottom is Front Row and you can set which keys it uses to open and close. I have it set to F8 so that it's next to all my expose keys.
