I was asked the other day how to underline or strike through type within Illustrator. I've been using Illustrator since version 3 and the subject has never come up, I'll be if I can find it though. I don't want to say that you can't do it in Illustrator then to be proved wrong.

I've not known anyone to actually use those features in any software. I've been using Illustrator for about 4 years, and can't really think of a way to do that (other than adding it manually as a path later...) - but that's because I've never needed to do it, and few designers have.

Though Illustrator is great for typography, I'm pretty sure you can't do it (at least in Illustrator 10 and below). Quark is able to do it I think, as inDesign may.

You'd probably just be better off creating it as a path,
