task manager?

What would I use to see what processes are running, cpu usage, memory usage and all that in a nice gui? im guessing i would need a widget?

To view the processes etc...go to the Activity Monitor.

In the Finder Menu Click on:

Go>Utilities>Activity Monitor


Or you can download a widget to do the same as the already installed Activity Monitor:

Click here:iStat pro.wdgt

There are most probably several widgets you could find to do what you require.... :dive:

There is a widget for it, and I can't find it right now...if it comes to me I will post it, but there is one...I used to have it on my ibook.

I just learned the other day about viewing the active processes using Terminal with the top command....interesting to know another way to view processes...just need to understand Terminal a bit better..sorta confusing to me at the mo'...

Unless you're obsessed with viewing your system processes on a daily basis, avoid using a widget. They're enormous memory hogs. The included Activity Monitor is precisely what you've described. Unlike "top" (also mentioned), it presents all of the information you're asking about, in a tidy little easy-to-use GUI.
