Hello again,

does anybody know if (and how) one can run DOS applications with Darwine? I want to call this DOS program from an R script, so Dosbox etc. is not an option.
Thanks,

Uli

Well If you have an intel Mac you could install Qemu or Parallels and run FreeDOS (http://www.freedos.org) in a Virtual Machine.

I was going to suggest freedos, but it wouldn't let you call the Dos program from a script. On Linux, DOSEmu has a thing called 'dosexec' that lets you wrap DOS programs in a similar way to what Wine does for Windows apps. Not sure if it works with OS X tho.
