Modem hangs up!

Does anyone got any ideas as to what would cause a dial up modem in a G4 ibook to just hang up. It does connected without any problems but wont stay connected, It will stay connected for one or two minutes, sometimes for about 10 to 12 if I'm lucky. When it happens I get a message saying "The modem has just hungup" anyone got any ideas on how I can fix this problem?

It could be several things, though one of the most likely is simply a bad POP #. You might want to try a different access number if you have one.
