Problem with my Dashboard?

Hey everyone, I'm new here so I hope I don't get trashed for not using the search function :)

Anyway, as a new mac user, I'm still trying to work out some kinks. On my dock, I used to always push the Dashboard button, and a cool menu would pop up with the weather, calculator, date, and calender. For some reason now when I do it, nothing happens. I took a few screenie to see if anyone can give me any advice on how to get my old Dashboard back (donno what the **** a widget or midget is)

it appears as though your widgets have somehow been deleted. A widget it the weather, calculator, calendar things that show up in dashboard. They are basically little programs. You may have accidentally deleted them. Activate Finder and hit command + shift + g and type in /Library/Widgets Is there anything in this folder?

Just navigate there manually, don't use the Command+Shift+G bar. It hardly ever works.

Click the "+" sign on the bottom left of the screen and drag the widgets back onto the Dashboard.
