Do I have fans on my powerbook? If so, how would I check if they were working? I downloaded a cpu heat widget for my pb, and its above the normal operating temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The thing is I don't hear the fans turn on or anything. The cpu temp says 117 degrees Fahrenheit, so I'm assuming that the fans should turn on by now. Any advice?

The fan on my iBook turns on at around 150 degrees Fahrenheit. I would say you are doing alright.

My Powerbook fans (1.5 GHz G4) kick in at 170F. My average operating temperature is 115F so you should be fine. If the fans do fail, the system's thermal diode will trip the firmware to physically turn the computer off, if it gets too hot.
