I've had my MacBook since it was released and I have be very happy with it. I haven't noticed too much of a speed advantage compared to my iMac G5 2.1ghz. But I finally noticed how fast it is today. I was ripping a movie from DVD with Handbrake on the iMac and it was working at about 6fps. It took over 10 hours! On the MacBook it encoded at 53fps. It took less than an hour! Holy cow! If the movie hadn't turned out wrong, I wouldn't have even tried it in the MacBook, and wouldn't have learned of such a speed difference.
