transferring os to Leopard

My imac will be arriving in the next week or 2, but i am just wondering if leopard is released in a few months time, will I be able to simply buy the new OS and upgrade to it straight forward, or not?

Completely new to Macs so I am clueless!

Yes, when Leopard is finally available you can just purchase it and upgrade.
You have plenty of time to wait though, it won't be around anytime in the near future. The projections from Apple are not until 2QTR 2007.

the upgrade to leopard will be seemless like all apple
os upgrades so far. so as long as you've got the dosh
