When I install a program, it puts a icon on the desk top. How do I keep it from doing that? I did not have it download to the desktop. It just appers there.
Icons on desktop, how remove.

you did not install the program. When you download the .dmg or .img file that you want to install it creates the disk image (white disk image). Open up that image and drag that program into your applications folder. Drag the white disk image to the trash and you can launch the program from your applications folder
