Just got a new MacBook Pro

Hey just got a new macbook pro, I love it except for one thing. Btw, this is my first apple computer. I have a Sony Vaio desktop computer running on windows. I have wireless Broadband internet connection set p for both computers. I noticed that my desktop plays videos online at a better quality than the macbook. On my laptop it takes long to load and is at a lot lower quality. This confuses me though, because my macbook pro has a 256MB video card, while my desktop has only a 64 MB card. Is there a better video player that i should download?

1 GB memory
120 GB HD
256MB graphics card
