Do i need to buy something special to hook up my macbook to a dial up modem. All i have is dial-up where i live and i dont see any phone jacks in the side of the macbook. So before i order a macbook i want to see what else i need so i can order it all at once.

The modem option is right there when you configure your MacBook on the Apple Store.

Apple is not putting modem ports on any of their systems now. The only way to get a modem port is to buy the external usb modem.

Unfortunately, the modem is going the way of the floppy drive as far as Macs are concerned. While there are still dial up internet users, they are fast becoming the minority as broadband access becomes more and more accessible to people. This is why Apple has chosen to slowly phase out modems on their systems. They are however keeping them as an optional component, but since it is an extra piece it is going to cost extra money. :black:
