What program on Mac can I use to make an animated gif? Is there anyway I can do it with iPhoto?

Use Image Ready. Look for some tutorials on the internet.

Photoshop CS2 has the animation palette built right into it, so you don't even need to jump to ImageReady...unless you want to.

Wow, big_mike, I didn't even know that. Maybe I should think about finallyyyy upgrading...nawww... I need universal binary support ;)

Imageready here for me too.

very easy, run each layer into an animation and save it as a GIF

I tend to make layers in photoshop, open it up in image ready and convert it to a GIF
