Should the external iSight i just bought be able to do multi person video chats? Because so far mine will only do two people...

Its got nothing to do with the iSight being internal/external its all about your bandwidth/comp specs

I am glad that you are happy with your iSight! Be sure to check out a great little add on called iGlasses. It is like the preferences panel that Apple "forgot" to include with the iSight. In particular, you can use it to increase the gain on the camera in low light situations, dramatically improving the visibility of the image. By the way, I am not affiliated with iGlasses in any way, just a very happy customer.
