• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

mpeg4 clip on web won't play

W

wondering

I made a video clip for people to view on my website in two versions, .wmv and QT mpeg4. They play fine on my PC and Mac (and most other people's) but I received an email from one viewer who had a problem playing the QT mpeg4 version on his G5 (!). Here's what he said:

"I tried using Safari 2.0.4 on my Dual 2.5GHz Mac G5 running Mac OS 10.4.7. The Windows Media clips download fine & Windows Media Payer opens automatically & plays each clip but the QuickTime versions download a binary file into a Safari browser window, thus being useless to view."

Any ideas? Thanks!
