Mercury Messenger not working!

MSN Messenger's not working!

I have been using Mercury Mesenger with my Intel iMac for months now without any problems. But today whenever I sign into MSN using it within a second an error will pop up saying....

"Mercury Mesenger was unable to sign you in becasue the connection with the MSN server (messenger.hotmail.com:1863) could not be established.

Unable to connect to server. The connection was refused (server down?)"


However, I can sign on MSN using an online messenger...and the status of the servers are fine so says the website.

I tried also aMSN and I got a error connecting to server error. I also tried using normal MSN on my XP computer and it wouldn't connect.

What is wrong and how can i fix it?

Just had the same issue happen with my mercury messenger, adium and amsn but msn for mac still works (well as much as it ever did) did you find a solution or does anyone know what causes this?

messenger hotmail also mercury messenger don't work, it says e-mail address and password wrong, but it is not
