350D not showing up in finder window sidebar.

How do I get my Canon Digital Rebel to show up in the side bar of the finder window? When ever I plug in my camera iPhoto just opens up. I want to be able to import a few picutres without having to wait a half and hour for iphoto to cycle through all the images on my CF card just to import 2 or 3 pictues.

My old point and shoot digtal camera showed up in the finder side bar... So why doesnt my rebel?

Oh, I do have 4.7.

use image capture, from within the preferences on that app you can choose for only that app to open when you connect the camera.
