is going, you often have to [1]watch the computer component
manufacturers,
and that's just what DigiTimes did. AsusTek and Quanta both produce
Apple
notebooks and sources appear to have just revealed that September is the
month for 64-bit Merom CPUs in the MacBook and MacBook Pro line."

I got a macbook a week after it was released, and to be honest if a better one is coming out, then so be it. If you keep waiting for the slightly upgraded version of something, then you just wont go anywhere. However, I doubt that it will in sept anyway. Probabaly the MBP will upgrade, but not the macbook. Its only been out 2 months, and apple wouldnt in their right mind release a new upgrade that close after release (I know they do often, but 2 months is stupid).

I think the the MBP will have an upgrade in sept, and then the macbook a little later on. Atfer all the MBP has been out for a while now, alot longer then the macbook.

im a student and im getting ready to go back to school. im prbly gonna buy a macbook b4 i go back, would it be worth waiting for the 64-bit proccessors? what exactly is the advantage to the 64-bits and will it really affect the average joe who uses a mac and is not a developer?

If leopard is fully 64bit coded, you will notice the over all response of the O/S will be much quicker, as well as if the apps are coded for proper 64bit, it can literally double the performance.

I know you cant always wait for the next best thing, especially in the computer world where there is a 3-6 months cycle of parts, but in this case, this is a brand new CPU architecture, which doesnt happen every 6 months, more like every 2-3 years it seems from the past.
