2 questions and an intro...

hey I am powerweb, I am a webdeveloper currently learning.

A friend of mine got into a car accident and his macbook went through the window. So he gave it to me thinking it was trash. With slightly bent case and a smashed monitor, i am using it right now. ha ha. I have an external monitor connected.

My first question -

Can I remove the broken monitor and continue to run off of the external? I figuer with the huge increase in mac computers, i dont want to sink money into a machine of the past.

My second question -

Can i reinstall osx using the externalt monitor? or will it not work on account of the monitor being broken or removed?

Should work, but wouldn't it be nicer to give your friend back his monitor?

your friend gets in a crash. You get his mabook to find it works, and keep it. Gah!

should work fine because its from the video card and has a bios to read correct.
(this is pc information, macs might not even have bios dont know, worked on my Pc)
