I've got a loan of an eMac for about 2 weeks. I've had it nearly a week, and I really quite like it. I like the way you just plug things in and they work. Anyway, I want the mac on my network so I can use the internet on it and get a realy feal for it. I'm trying to use connection sharing from my desktop pc through a crossover cable, but it's having none of it. My PC can PING the mac, but I have no idea how to go on from here. Any helf would be greatly appreciated as I'm a total newb. Cheers dudes

Since you can ping the mac, i would say you just need to get some settings straight on the pc. Try internet connection sharing. If that doesn't work (it did not for me) setup something called a "network bridge." "bridge" together your ethernet and wifi connections. That is what finally worked for me.
