I just brought home a G4 Imac Flat Panel Computer and there is some yellowing on the base that looks like it is from smoking. I know with the mac books when there was yellowing from hands that nail polish remover worked to return it to it's originall white lustre. Do you think that nail polish remover would be the solution to this yellowing imac? Is it safe for me to try it or could it mess it up worse?

Anyone ever experience a similar issue to this?

Have you tried a regular household cleaner yet?

Yes, I have tried some dish soap and water but it appears that it is stained from Cigarette smoke.

I mean a standard household cleaner like 409 or Windex. Something that will actually clean it...

For the love of God, do not use acetone based nail polish remover!

Could also just be from age. Doesn't necessarily mean its from smoke. I would say age, because nicotine residue would clean off rather easily with soap and water.

Is there anyway to return it to it's original whiteness? Take the case off and put it through the dishwasher?

Again, have you tried a household cleaner besides soap and water?

If you do try a household cleaner and the yellowing is still there, then you can pretty much assume it is there to stay. Again, if the yellowing is from age then nothing is going to "clean" it up.

I found the answer my friends. It was the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, it did a mighty fine job.
