I thought I saw something where this could be done, but cannot find the same page that explained it. So here's the deal...

For work i got a powerbook using airport and they are setup for dhcp but the network is 169.x.x.x, and being a work box I dont have root priviliages. :eek:neye: Well at home I could just setup my network to use DHCP on my router, but I prefer to use static addressing for my port forwarding.

So my question is, "is there a way to use both DHCP and static addressing on the mac airports?"

Ohh I figured this out, if anyone wanted to know. MAC filtering or something like that. Got it working. Also setting DHCP ip range and then manually setting the ip to an address outside of that range. I could provide more detail if needed but didnt appear to be a hot topic so i'll leave it at that.
