Are there any external hard drives you've had great luck with? I use one Maxtor to store my itunes music and one Maxtor to store my video - I've heard good things about LaCie what are your external hard drives of choice?

LaCie I've had no problems with, the triple interface 160GB one and an older portable 20GB one
EDIT: when researching externals I checked barefeats.com to check the drive itself on their benchmarks. Once you have those look at the brands to see which ones are inside theirs. Western Digital and Maxtor are ones that come to mind. Check the site

DONT BUY LACIE
Mine had a mechanical failure after only a year and a half. $250 wasted that caused me loads if trouble.

I had a lacie and really liked it.. I did however take it apart and put the drives into my high school computer before I left as a nice gesture. I hear G-Drives are really nice, and reliable drives and I think that is going to be my next one.

Best idea, buy and internal, buy a case and make it yourself, takes 10min no experience required.

Graph, why no Seagate? I have found their internal drives the most reliable.
I have had great luck with a Western Digital external, not a problem at all. LaCie's are great also especially the D2 series.
As Graph said though, you can just get any Internal and a case and put it together for less.

i use about 8 150gig and 2 250 gig Maxtors at work and they all have worked great.
