The Mac Mini I ordered was supposed to come in today. What I got was a box of cables, and a full refund. Also, I can't order another one because my dads a disabled vet. and is not feeling good soi he's going to the hospital.

Call Apple and talk to them. And what does it have to do with your daddy being a vet and going to the hospital?

eBay.

It has to do with him because he is the one ordering it for me. I don't have a debit/credt card so I can order it myself. And no, He just sent me cabled and refunded my money through paypal.

Obviously the e-bay seller had a problem, at least he gave him a full refund.

I would now reccomend staying away from e-bay....

I would assume that he bought from e-bay becasue he did not have the money to buy a new one from Apple.

Exactly. I'm only going to order computers directly from the manufacter. I'm going to order again(not from ebay), maybe tomorrow if my dads back home. But till then...I can't and I'm Macless.

And yeah, thats the only reason my dad bought it off ebay. If it was a legit deal I would have saved $150 since it was MY money.

But, I guess having a guarentee'd shipment from Apple, plus overnight shipping for Macs is worth the extra $150.

Well that sucks that you didn't get the Mini. On the bright side, Apple has a refurbished Mini Core Duo for $699.

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...4T7sz/1.0.0.19.1.0.8.7.3.5.1.1.15.1.5.1.1.5.0

Thanks for the link, but it's not working...I'm going to the Apple store this weekend so if they have a refurbished Mini there, I'll look at it. Taking I only have about $650 I'll probably only get a Solo, with some upgrades.

OR. Give eBay a shot again. I really don't want a desktop, unless it's an iMac. But I don't have that kind of money, so I'm going to give eBay one more chance, I am probably going to get a used/refurbished iBook.

But, I'm going to post a link to the auction and check with you guys to see if it's a legit seller.

Yeah, they're still a bit pricey for the money I have, so does anyone know a website that sells used/ refurbished older Macs? I really didn't want the Mini anyway, I would like an iBook.

You could try craigslist. It's less risky than eBay because you can meet people in person to check out the merchandise. That's where I found my iBook.

edit: Well, the pickings for iBooks in Tampa is pretty slim, but I found a Mac Mini Core Duo for $700. Maybe you could talk him down $50.
