This morning whne i turned my macbook on i heard a faint high pitched scratchy whirring sound. I have not heard this before, and my computer is 3 days old. Anyone know what this is?

Ps: i have determined it is not coming from the speakers or anything but under the keyboard, so presumably the hd or something like that.

I feel like the HD is on the right hand side of the keyboard and makes a constant low hum. This noise is from the left side and ocassionally dies away but then quickly comes back.

If its on the left then it is the fan.

Try iSlayer, they have good stuff.
