[FUTURE] Boot Camp for Vista?

As some of you may or may not know, the Mac Pro G6's will be rolling in this August... and I'm going to get one. However, this will be my very first Mac, so the transition will be difficult, and I'll still be using Windows occassionally. I'm wondering, however... will Apple develop Boot Camp for Vista? I'm assuming the answer to this question is yes, but I need some opinions.

its not mac pro g6 its just macpro if that is what they are calling it.. It is the intel powermac replacement.

Yes. Mac Pro is the desktop that will be replacing the Power Mac. It fits the pattern. Powerbook (PowerPC) becomes the MacBook Pro (Intel), PowerMac G5 (PowerPC) becomes the Mac Pro (Intel).

Really? Sorry. I always thought it would continue the numbering.

Nope, they stopped the numbering when they stopped using PPC chips. Notice it's no longer iMac G5, or PowerBook G4, or iBook G4 but now iMac, MacBook Pro, and MacBook?

Just MacPro. By then Leopard will have been released, along with the rumored new app that will allow you to switch seamlessly btwn OSes and will most likely have Vista support as Vista will have been out by then.

search the site, and google. I've read numerous pages here and on other sources on the net about Leopard. But don't forget, it's all RUMORED. Nothing official yet, except that it'll be 10.5 "Leopard"

Mac Pro is the definate name as Apple filed a patent on it recently and search here, one guy talked to an Adobe CS3 specialist who let it slip.

There are folks already running Vista Betas on Intel macs, so I don't see it being a stretch that it will continue on. What he is alluding too is a rumor that 10.5 would have Virtualization as part off the OS (Something like Parrells). However, it looks like Apple may not go that route....

So we all know by now from WWDC that OSX 10.5 is Leopard and it is going to come with an improved Boot Camp. Will Boot Camp be able to boot into Vista or will it be limited to XP? Has anyone ran Vista Beta 2 with Boot Camp?

Bootcamp will let you install vista, however if drivers are offered by apple that is yet to be seen.

Remember bootcamp was created to ease the switch but inevitably force the switch when the fall in love with their mac.

You'll be surprised how fast and easily you will make the transition. Of course, everyone is different.
I Know I live in a fast moving city but I don't get how people say they want/need to use Windows for up to a month or more after using a Mac. Aside from some 3D games. It took me roughly two days to get all my music onto my Mac and disassemble my XPbox. It was sold that weekend. I haven't looked back, I'd wager to say you won't either!
To answer your question Boot Camp will, without a doubt, be useable with Vista. To boot, it will be coming pre-installed in Lepoard.

I love my Mac and use it by choice....however, I work in SolidWorks 3D modeling and my company isn't ever changing that. I use Maxivista to double my workspace using my HP laptop as a second screen. I would love to do this with my Mac but need BootCamp to do it so I would like for BootCamp to hang around just for that.
