I have UB Call of Duty 2 running on my Macbook Pro, even when I had 1GB (now 2GB!) it ran really well and I could run it at full resolution with very little lag, although I run it at the lower resolution of 1280 x 800 so it runs really crisp. I'm not sure if there was a PowerPC version of COD2 but I would not recommend it as I had the PPC version of Quake 4 and it ran terribly even on the lowest res with all the effects off, although that could be just Quake 4.

COD2 on the MBP is brilliant!

so now you say you CAN run at any resolution...

someone few posts before you said it cant be done :hmm:

He's talking about a Macbook PRO - I ran the demo on a Macbook.

As I said in my last post, the macbook pro correctly displays all resolution options, the macbook doesn't.

The game also defaults to the lowest possible settings, so obviously it doesn't think the graphics card support 'higher resolutions and defaults to the bare minimum.

the 24FPS limit is not true any longer, it was thought that from back in the Tv days.

many people can see above and beyond 60FPS. i can certainly tell when my game drops frames from 60FPS steady to 40 or lower, i use Vsync on my LCD to prevent tearing.

the more FPS, the smoother things will appear.

Video / tv and games are diff, TV uses a blurring affect which makes it appear smooth, video games do not and thus you can tel the difference with video games.

i cant find the tool, but there is one around that will measure how many FPS you can see.

i think a 2.0ghz and more ram would help a little bit over the 1.83ghz and 512mb - but it needs more ram and faster GPU.. i'm scared to pay the 50 bucks to try it..

yeah, it is kind of a toss up....another $50 to playa game, in the end it is amazing what we all end up spending, on top of the price of the software / game, just to play / use the software.
