entered wrong password/can't access account

I entered the wrong password too many times and now computer "can't access user'Blameus'at this time".Any suggestions or am I out of luck? thanks....oh yeah.I changed the password so that I am now imputting the correct password...but I am still told that the computer can't access account.
Also,I printed off directions to "reset the OpenDirectory administrator password"(is this what I need to do?)My only problem with the instructions given is what is the Workgroup manager and how do I access it?

Did you try restarting the machine? If nothing else works, put in the OSX DVD that came with your Mac and hold down C and boot from the DVD. From the menu you will find reset password. That will allow you to change it to a new one so you can log in.

not out of the hole yet

Thanks for the suggestion.I tried doing as you suggested and the computer still can't access the computer....thanks for your assistance.

Did you reboot with the install DVD and reset the password? Do you have more than one account or just that one?

Yes,I do have more than one account...and I have tried rebooting with the install DVD and I have reset the password...any suggestions?

Let me see if I have this right.

You rebooted from the install DVD and somewhere about 3 or 4 screens into the install process you found the option, in the task bar at the top, to change the password for the account in question. You changed the account password and the machine told you the password change was accepted. You then rebooted the computer from the hard drive, not the DVD, and attempted to log into the account in question with the new password and it still won't let you in?

Do I have that correct?
