Microsoft Powerpoint being read on Windows box

whenever I create a powerpoint slideshow with pictures and send it over to a windows box to be read on the windows version of microsoft powerpoint, all the pictures say "need quicktime to be displayed" . what gives?

All image files are not equal. If you open the images in an editor and then save them they may work. Photoshop is good for this (that's how I've fixed the problem in the past), but there are lots of image editor applications that will work as well. Some of them are free. If that doesn't work let us know.
