I have a HP 6110 usb currently plugged in to my macbook and working fine. I need to put it on the network using a usb print server. When I do that, the mac see's it but only selects a generic post script driver. I've downloaded and installed the full software install from hp but it still does not see it. Is it possible to track down the driver or software the mac uses when it is directly connected via usb and have it use that driver for the network connection or simply change the port type from usb to ip address in the mac printer setup. I know XP can do it, how about a mac?
