Software sync app?

Are there any apps for OS X that will essentially clone the files and apps from one computer to another? I'd like to have a Mini at home and a MacBook on the go, but have the apps and files synced between them. I don't know if there's anything like that out there or if it's even possible because of the hardware differences, but I'd be really interested in it if there is something like that available.

theres a program that you can use to clone something one time, as in you can clone it now but it wont continuously update everything a change is made. it works really well though, im not sure if that interests you...
