trouble with podcast list

I have the non-video 4th gen ipod, and when I suscribe and download the podcast, the old ones are not deleted.

I just want to download the lastest and delete one I have already listened to.

I know it has to do with the settings, I played with it and in one it does says keep only the lastest ones. But its not doing it.


any help is appreciated.

in itunes preferences under the podcast tab there is a drop down menu labeled 'Keep'. tell it to keep 'All unplayed episodes'. it should delete the ones you have listened to every time it updates
