HDD & Maxtor One Touch III Opinion

After Transferring Files from Mac Mini and Boot Camp...I only have 34GB from 80GB on my Mac Book...!!!

I heard you are supposed to leave a certain amount...not let it get too low...???

I was at Costco today and saw this 300GB Maxtor One Touch III for $229.99 CAN

Is this the Best Value...spent too much just this month alone...!!!
