I downloaded the Firefox browser for Mac OSX. The disk is mounted to my desktop now but when I try to open it, a window pops up that says, "1 item, zero kb available."

What's the deal with that?

Thanks.

That's exactly right. Firefox is the only thing in there, and there is no space on the disk image file. What you need to do is open another filer window (command-N) and drag the firefox icon into Applications.

If you're not sure about any of this, check out the OS X 101 course on the Apple support site. It details various things about how applications work and how to install and remove them.

Click the Silver Bar in the upper right hand of the window and drag the Firefox.app file into the Apps folder.
