According to the discussions on apple.com/support it does make some significant improvements in speed... However two specific bugs that involve the viewer going black and also some contrast issues are still being reported after the 1.1.2 update. I have yet to test myself.

Update: I installed the update... Wow... Huge speed boost. Haven't noticed the bugs yet.
