Piano keyboard help

Hey, I just bought this keyboard from best buy and its usb keyboard and i tried plugging it into my powerbook so i could use it in garage band. Anyone have any idea how i can use it in garage band or any programs i could use it in?

Is it setup through MIDI on the KB and on Garageband? (PS, You can use MIDI on any reecording software)

It says 0 midi inputs detected i have my computer turned on to computer mode or whatever too

you are going to either have to set up the midi in garageband OR,

go into applications>utilities and got to audio midi setup , you then need to turn the 'input' to your midi or usb port i dont remember exactly how i set up that it was a real long time ago i had to do this

I have several keyboards through a MIDI/FW interface and they were recognized when I plugged them in and turned them on.
