Remote Control Descktop Imac via Ibook

I want to remote control my desktop machine when I'm out and about using my Ibook. Can someone tell me the best way of doing this?

Either use apple's remote desktop application ($$) or use a VLC solution such as ChickenoftheVNC.

Enable remote access in system prefs-> Sharing and then type in the IP of your desktop in covnc on your iBook and your desktop should come up.

I am getting the message: Unknown authType 1349676916

Any ideas. It's not letting me connect.

Are you behind a router? You'll probably have to activate port forwarding...

I dont know - I'm using Airport to connect via hotspots etc (!) :ninja:
